Chef Dana Herbert!
Lauded by the original Cake Boss, Buddy Velastro, as the "Sugar Daddy" for his remarkable talents composing pulled and blown sugar creations, Chef Herbert is also known for his eye for design in building incredibly intricate custom cakes for many high-profile occasions. The owner of Desserts by Dana in New Castle, DE, Chef Herbert recently rose to national fame with his victory on TLC's culinary competition "Cake Boss: The Next Great Baker."
Chef Herbert has designed one-of-a-kind cakes for many high-profile Mid-Atlantic clients including the current Second Lady of the United States Jill Biden, Asante Samuel of the Philadelphia Eagles, Kijafa Frink (fiancé of Michael Vick of the Philadelphia Eagles), Jimmy Rollins of the Philadelphia Phillies, and famous jazz musician Najee. Dana has also designed cake creations for companies including Marriott, Sysco, Philadelphia International Airport, HSBC, and the University of Delaware. Currently, Dana is the Head Chef at the Delaware River and Bay Authority in New Castle and is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity (Wilmington Alumni Chapter), the International Cake Exploration Society (ICES), and the American Culinary Federation.
